But if the player has a better weapon or isn’t terribly interested in PVP than it’s probably not worth it. Simply put if the player wishes to heavily participate Crucible matches then going through the effort of tracking down the MIDA Multi-Tool Catalyst and upgrading it is a good move. I had to play for at least a year before it even dropped, then had to kill the entire Red Army to unlock it, only to get a slightly faster reload speed. 'Back in my day, we didn't have these five step missions to get the catalyst. Once the player has the MIDA Multi Tool Catalyst they’ll need to grind out 200 Precision kills in crucible to fully upgrade it. A lot of the old exotics was/is brutal to get the catalyst. Especially if they can nudge you up to Glory Rank 5 Legend where the drop is guaranteed, though finding a clan that can do this is easier said than done. Finding a skilled clan committed to this grind can go a long way to making the process easier. The player is going to have to grind a lot of Crucible matches for the MIDA Multi-Tool Catalyst to drop. While the clan bonus may not exist there’s still a strong case to be made for joining a clan. While the odds are better at Glory Rank 4 Mythic players may be better off grinding Glory Rank 3 Fabled if they have trouble winning consistently. Step one - Enhance: getting the Mida Mini-Tool In order to get the Mida Multi-Tool, youll first want to grab its little brother. That being said it will only appear with a successful win. Both Midas are well-rounded, top-shelf weapons that will serve you well in all activities.Obviously the higher Ranking you can play at the better off you are for the MIDA Multi Tool Catalyst to drop. Go back to the Gunsmith and voila! You’re the proud owner of a powerhouse pair. Notably, you only have to deal the killing blow with a submachine gun, and you do not have to use the Mida Mini-Tool for this step. This step is easiest for Dawnblade Warlocks, but any class can knock it out by jumping over weak enemies like Fallen dregs and shanks. To clear this step, get 50 midair submachine kills. Visit the gunsmith once more and he’ll give you ‘The Fall Will Kill You’. (And while you’re at it, save up legendary and exotic engrams for the Sturm quest.) Step three So if you’re reading this ahead of time, be sure to save up scout rifles. Completing Lost Sectors is a fast way to earn rare weapons, but you can do virtually anything. You cannot buy these from a vendor, but you can receive them from faction packages. To clear this step, you have to dismantle five rare or legendary scout rifles. Return to the gunsmith and he’ll give you ‘Under the Hood’. Often overlooked as just being a normal scout rifle that makes you sprint faster, the Mida Tool has quite a bit of nuance making it so much more. If it's a longer range map like Eternity or Widow's Court, I'd rather take the Jade Rabbit over Mida Multi Tool. At best, MIDA still requires three crits + one body, or four crits at higher resilience. You can complete both objectives in any activity on any planet. Jade Rabbit went from a 1.2 TTK (three shots, all crits), to a 0.8 TTK (two crits, one body). Any scout rifle will do, though one with a large magazine will make this step easier. Getting additional kills won’t contribute to that magazine’s multi-kill count. For some the grind is fun, but for me (a slightly above average pvp player) it was. Although its great that there is a 'reward' at the end of it all, do you really think that the Mida catalyst of ALL things is really worth the effort. The trick here is to reload after getting three kills. Mida Multi-Tool Catalyst: The worst 2 days of destiny since getting recluse. The second objective refers to 25 multi-kills, meaning you’ll technically kill 75-ish individual enemies. Using a scout rifle, eliminate 50 enemies with precision headshots, and eliminate multiple (three) enemies without reloading, 25 times.
